Fully 25% of Americans believe HIV can be transmitted by sharing drinking glasses. 16% believe it can be transmitted by sharing toilet seats. And perhaps most alarmingly of all, 12% believe that they can contract HIV by swimming in the same pool as a carrier. These figures perhaps explain why a majority of Americans--51%-- would not be "very comfortable" working with someone who has AIDS. See the whole thing
